Location
Pole dance lessons are held at Hull Wellbeing, 440 Beverley Road Hull HU5 1LP.
This is on a major bus route with a bus stop almost directly outside. If you are driving, there is on-street parking on Washington Street.
Upon arrival please proceed to the waiting area on the ground floor and relax while you wait.

Your First Pole Dance Class
What to Expect From a Pole Dance Lesson
Your Temple offers intimate classes in which you will have a pole to yourself. With a maximum for four people in the class, you will be receive high quality tuition in techniques for building strength, achieving tricks and transitions and movement guidance.
Each lesson will start with a thorough warm-up and finish with a cool-down. As the type of lessons offered will vary, any of the following may be included:
Conditioning
Choreography and flow sequences
Spins poses and transitions.
You will also have time included in each lesson to practice what you have learned.
What to Wear
Clothing
Bare skin is important for grip in pole dance. If you are new to pole dance it may be daunting to have a lot of skin on show but don’t worry, shorts and a vest top are ideal for your first lesson.
Shoes
Shoes are encouraged but not essential. If you do want to wear shoes for pole dance, it is recommended that you wear 6 inch, 7 inch or 8 inch platform shoes from a reputable brand (Pleaser, Hella Heels, Leecabe). Street shoes are not permitted within pole dance lessons at Your Temple.
Skin
It is very important that you do not apply moisturiser, oils or lotions on the day of your pole dance lesson. This includes sunscreen products.
Jewellery
Rings, metal bracelets, metal watches and metal anklets will also need to be removed for your lesson.
What to Bring
Please bring the following to your pole dance class:
Water (preferably in a refillable bottle) - you will be able to fill your bottle in the kitchen facility
Yoga mat.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your lesson, you must inform Your Temple as soon as possible. If you cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice you will be offered a space on a practise session.
Note: Cancellations made less than 12 hours prior to the lesson will likely result in the lesson being forfeited.
Late Arrival
Warm-ups are an integral part of pole dance lessons and therefore cannot be missed. Unfortunately arriving more than 5 minutes late will mean that you will not be able to participate in the lesson.
Health and Safety
Safety is paramount when attending a pole dance lesson with Your Temple.
Please ensure that you are fit and ready to participate in your pole dance lesson. If you are unwell or are experiencing an injury, you must inform the instructor prior to the start of the lesson.
Accidents and Injury
While every care is taken to avoid accidents and injury, should either occur, you will be appropriately treated by a qualified first aider and a record will be made of the incident.
All equipment provided by Your Temple is of a high quality and will be safety checked and cleaned regularly.
Fire Safety
Fire exits are marked clearly and fire extinguishers are located within the building.
Further information on fire safety will be provided upon your initial lesson.
Covid-19
If you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 you must inform the instructor immediately and not attend your lesson.
On arrival, please wear a face covering and sanitise or wash your hands immediately upon entering the building.
During the lesson, please remain at your pole and do not move around the room unnecessarily.
Equipment will not be shared during your lesson. All equipment will be cleaned between lessons.
Inclusion Statement
Your Temple welcomes every person who would like to start pole dance / participate in pole dance lessons. Anyone who attends pole dance lessons will be made to feel welcome without judgement.
Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
Social Media
You may record video and take pictures of yourself in your lesson. Please be mindful of others being captured in pictures and videos and always ask permission before uploading content to social media.
Likewise, Your Temple may wish to upload lesson content featuring students to social media. In these instances, your permission will be attained prior to doing so. You have the right to refuse permission and you may do this without judgement.
