Virtual Release
What is it?
Have you woken up with a stiff neck? Maybe your lower back has stiffened up and you want to know how you can release it yourself.
This appointment type is designed to give you more control of your body. It’s great that we can go see someone for a massage and to make our muscles feel nice and relaxed, but sometimes it pays to learn to understand what is going on with your own body and what you can do to help live a more comfortable and pain free life.
What happens during the appointment?
If it is your first appointment, we will discuss the issue and what you would like to gain from the time we spend. This will include a subjective and objective assessment and a course of action will be determined between us both.
Once we have determined the course of action, we will look at different techniques to release the muscles. Thiis will likely include some self massage, gentle movements and activation of different muscles. As this is done via a video link and I am not there in person to palpate the relevent areas, there will be constant communication between us. It is important that you feel that you can tell me when something does not feel right and we will reassess the technique / modality and change it as required.
At the end of the appointment, we will reassess the issue and discuss any further course of action. My aim is that you finish the appointment feeling better, with more knowledge about how to deal with those little niggles. If I think a further appointment would be beneficial, then I will dicuss this with you before ending the session.
How many appointments should you book?
To begin with, please only book one appointment.
While just one appointment may be sufficient to help with the issue, I might recommend a further appoinement in the following days/weeks to reassess the issue. This is not a compulsory appointment and I will only do so if I believe it would be benficial to you.
